Ephesians 1:17 - Wisdom and Understanding
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.” — Ephesians 1:17 Paul’s prayer was not merely that believers would know more facts about God. He prayed that they would know God Himself more deeply. There is a difference between gathering religious information and growing in spiritual understanding. One fills the mind; the other shapes the heart. The “spirit of wisdom and revelation” points us to the kind of knowledge only God can give. We need more than human reasoning. We need the Lord to open our understanding, guide our thoughts, and help us see His truth clearly. Spiritual growth is not finished at conversion. The believer is called to keep learning, keep maturing, and keep walking with God day by day. This kind of knowledge changes us.
